‘A MAN OF SECOND CHANCES’

Twenty-two years ago, Peter’s life strategy used to be: ‘Aim for bigger and better, work and play hard, enjoy life, make money.’ But his life took a tragic turn when his wife became severely ill. This brought him the sudden realisation that neither money nor medicine had the answers he needed. In total despair and turmoil, Peter turned to excessive drinking, leading to a catalogue of disasters.
With no place to turn to, an old memory of The Lord’s Prayer from Sunday school surfaced in his mind. He had also received an invitation to a church service from a friend, and that was when he got a second chance at life!
Peter Ruck now calls himself, ‘A man of second chances’ since the day that God miraculously met him. He tells everyone, “I will be forever grateful that someone cared enough to take the time to ask how I was doing, and to give me a glimmer of hope in a desperate situation.”
Peter now lives with his second wife Judy Choo-Ean, who introduced him to the unsaved tribes in the jungle in Malaysia. There, he has seen God use him to miraculously touch lives and bring a whole tribe to faith in Christ.
Today, Peter is a passionate evangelist with a personal desire to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. He does this in a variety of ways, including on his local High Street, and around the world. Why does he dedicate himself to sharing the Gospel? Because he knows personally that God cares about everyONE!
